Strong, long-lasting tank with leak testing
We fabricated large polycomp plating tanks with a steel structure that can be encapsulated with polypropylene or with clear vinyl PVC to protect the steel and offer for reliable visual inspection.
Our polypropylene plating tanks feature 90° thermally-formed vertical corners with our molded corner inserts (U.S. Pat. No. 8,133,345), pressure butt-welded vertical joints, and wall-to-bottom extrusion welds, all securely fused by our N-FUZE® (U.S. Pat. No. 8,133,345 & 9,278,478) state-of-the-art thermoplastic welding machine.
Our TANKeye® Inspector is included with this model, providing a way to test linings and liners when tanks are full.

Note: FM Global Property Loss Prevention Data Sheets recommend using “non-combustible construction for all pickling and electroplating tanks, fume collection and exhaust equipment and ducts” Of thirty plastics tested, polypropylene (PPL) was rated worst as a fire hazard. PPL has been called “diesel fuel in the solid state” (almost all hydrocarbon), and it burns with a maximum heat release rate approaching that of gasoline when burning. Temperatures up to 1093 degrees C (or 2000 degrees F) are reached, sufficient to cause steel to lose strength and buildings collapse.
